Continuing a Family Tradition:
We would like to express our gratitude to you, our customers, for making the past six and one-half years a great success. Ashery Farms has added to the product line and expanded several times during these years. We could not have done this without your support.
As Ashery Farms enters 2016 there are good changes ahead. We are excited to announce that as of January 1, 2016, Curtis and Rhonda Yoder have purchased majority ownership of Ashery Farms. Curt is Norita’s brother who owns the Ashery Country Store near Mt. Hope, Ohio; a store begun by their father 37 years ago. Curt assisted us in opening Ashery Farms six and one-half years ago, and has been involved as a consultant over the years. Those of you who have visited the Ashery Country Store know that Curt has succeeded beautifully with that business, known as the “Grandma of the Bulk Food Stores.”
We have every confidence that Curt and Rhonda will bring the same expertise, customer service and even more quality products to Ashery Farms, as they have to the Ashery Country Store.
Many of you are aware that in addition to opening Ashery Farms in 2009, we have also had the opportunity to graduate from The Ohio State University, then attend Yale University where we earned our respective Master’s degrees in religious history in May 2015.
The shift in ownership at Ashery Farms will allow us to fulfill our dream of taking what we learned at OSU and Yale back to our own Mennonite and Amish people. Marcus has taken a position as the executive director at the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center, where Norita will be a research fellow involved in writing and teaching. For more information, and to plan your visit, see www.behalt.com.
We began Ashery Farms with a vision to serve our community by offering quality products at a competitive price, with good customer service. We want to thank the employees who have been with us over the years and worked hard to fulfill this vision. Carrying two dreams, the store and academics, was indeed larger than ourselves. We could not have accomplished what we did without the help of our God, and good people surrounding us.
We are confidently excited about how the upcoming changes will allow Ashery Farms to serve you, our loyal customers, in the best possible ways. So, if you see a tall young man with a smile behind the counter; that will be Curt. Please welcome him as heartily as you did us! We wish him every success and trust you will be as supportive of him in the years ahead as you have been of us these past six and one-half years, while he works to continue a 37-year-old family tradition.
With deepest gratitude for your support,
Marcus & Norita Yoder
